Porche Classic clubs

interesting that on the Porsche website they now have a link to all the officially recognised classic Porsche clubs

Being mavericks we dont' need official recognition, but the list might be useful if travelling abroad / need help in Europe

Quite right too! I would be a little miffed if Porsche GB were in any way involved with DDK..

Not even the PCGB Early 911 Register! Ian, better get that sorted.

I would be a little miffed if Porsche GB were in any way involved with DDK

Recognition is different to involvement. If some one from abroad was in need of help, I'd like to think that DDK could offer assistance.

An argument I raised three or four years ago and one that others have raised for the past fifteen years

There are independent 'Classic' clubs, separate from the main Club, in nearly every country EXCEPT the UK where everything goes under the PCGB - and past (can't speak for current board as I quit and have no idea who's running the asylum) Board would do anything to prevent another club arising against it. The 'COC' in effect guarantees PCGB's preservation as the "only club recognised by Porsche Cars GB". I suspect this is no longer legal but hey ho.

This is despite some very credible people promoting the idea of a specialist 'Classic' club....

But I have to agree - DDK's ability to gain 'acceptance' versus the maverick concept - I'll always be a pirate

They were all figments of our imagination - it was Master Mates, Tom the cabin boy, and no staines anywhere!
