Vice SOLD

Post by Ralph »

I thought I'd list this here as there could be someone that appreciates old Sheffield quality and is looking for an engineers type of vice.

It's a Record No3 vice with 4" jaws from the late 80's complete with a genuine swivel base mounting - made in England in super condition. It has the rare rear handle which is specific to vices made for the swivel base. There is no wear in the dog and it's never been repainted or 'restored' like some of the monsters out there. The jaws only have a little chipping on one end and have no signs of stray hacksawing. Apart from NOS I'd say this is as good as your going to find. Not to be confused with the new Irwin/Record vices that are available today.

£90 collected from Gatwick area or can bring to the DDK rave.

Indeed, had mine for my 21st a very long time ago, covered in 'patina' from so much work.

Nicely run-in right now.

I don't think I've ever been aroused by an image of a vice until today!

I feel blessed.

I was tempted but managed to stop myself as a fifth vice might be overkill

You could keep this one for your 'best' work? I too have a few in active service.

For anyone who is afflicted with a vice condition they should seek out the Private Facebook group 'Bench Vice Collectors UK'.

I've just checked and this weighs in at 18kg packed so I could actually send this to Mainland UK for another £10 if anyone further afield is interested.

I'm sure another would be ok - I can now offer a discreet delivery service to Norfolk.
