FIA HTP-legal 1967MY 911S road/race car for sale

Post by KS »

My friend Mauro Borella in Italy is selling his race 911S and asked if I could help. Here are his words about the car, followed by a number of photos. I have more available...PM me or e-mail to classicporsche@chpltd.com

I have for sale my beautiful very early production (Nov.’66) MY’67 Porsche 911 S 2.0 which was totally restored last year from the bare shell into Group 4 period specification, including a full respray in its original Polo Red colour. This is the car shown in the early stages of the restoration in Classic Porsche #50. Chassis no. is 306832S.

Everything is new on the car, including its rare matching number original aluminium-block engine with 'doppelzundung' (twin plug ignition) and correct Weber carburettors, 901 original gearbox with limited-slip diff, twin front oil coolers under the fenders, 100Lt tank with central filler, original and correctly dated 'green' type instruments etc. The car is one of the very few originally delivered from new in Italy (see the original Porsche Kardex) and still has the old Italian licence plates and it is regularly registered for road use.

The car has a brand new FIA HTP Fiche in GTS up to 1971 Class valid until 2028. Due to the road registration it can be used not only for races like Le Mans Classic and any historic Championship like the FHR in Germany, but also for road rallies like the Tour de France or the Modena 100 Ore. With few mods it can be even used as a super fun 'Sport Purpose' road/racing car. For a quick sale I can offer this car with the original steel bonnet as a spare (now has a plastic one with the fuel filler in the middle) for an interesting price.

The car and its full restoration cost well over 200k Euros of which over 60k was spent just on the engine. After the full restoration (of which I have all the pictures) I did just one race last year (in Imola, with the UK Master Racing Series) where the car performed very well, and then nothing else, so the Porsche is still basically like new. I’m obviously available for any further question, the car is based in my mechanic workshop in Brescia and due to the road licence it can be even tested on the road...

€175,000 (approximately £155,000)

Best regards, thanks.
