seat identification

Post by redhouse53 »

I have a pair of tombstone seats, is it possible to date them or identify which model they are from? Long and the short is I might put them up for sale and have no idea if they are desireable or not. I suspect they might be early 70's 911 seats.

thanks

Not sure if this helps, I'll get more later. Ihave lost a couple of the plastic knobs of the tilt lever, but it does have the flat metal hinge plates and they weigh a ton. I vaguely remember a thread on here about particular RS seats that were very rare?

Thats a early impact bumper sport seat. Quite rare as it has a metal recliner hinge but with cable tilt forward mech like seats to date.

The missing hardware (lever handle) is also a rare peice. These always fracture at the fixing point.

brilliant, thanks. I'll have to hunt for the hardware, I remember putting it somewhere safe but that was many years ago.......

Any idea what they might be worth?

Best seats ever made by Recaro.

I also have a pair in the same black vinyl/cloth. The driver's seat (RHD) has the very rare option of 2 holes in the headrest for race harness.
