Black Basketcase weave material for '73 dash?

Post by 911hillclimber »

I need to re-finish the aluminium covers on the dash of my 73T
I'm not at all fussed about originality, but would like to remove the smooth vynal I glued on in '89 with a linen-backed basket weave in black.

Thus I need a strip of this material about 150mm wide x 1000mm or enough to do the whole dash strip.

I can find any at the NEC classic shows, so asking here.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Graham.

If you are interested in originality 1972 and 1973 did not use basket weave?

To me, that is almost an incentive to use it.
I nearly went with a wood veneer !
