hello fellow DDK'ers
Ive been lurking around for ages but I have had to mothball my car resto while family and business take priority. Havent touched it properly for years ;-(
However I recently purchased a new front windscreen and seals from Roger Bray and was wondering if anybody here travels between Roger's workshop and East Sussex?
They understandably wont post it out and I'm looking at perhaps buying a windscreen shipping box from local VW bug centre and sending it to Roger to use to send back to me- but its a risk,...
But if anyone is travelling between Roger and me in Hove, East Sussex, Ill gladly cover petrol....
let me know!
Dan

What are you after?

Re: Roger Bray 356b Windscreen delivery help
I had the same problem as I live in Kent, after huge amounts of research i discovered that Pilkington own Sigla ( who were the OE screen supplier to porsche) Pilkington will supply you ( and crucially deliver) you a brand new screen for your 356 with either the Sigla or pilkington logo on it. They actually sell them under their 'Pilkington Classics' brand. Until fairly recently it was manufactured at their plant on the Isle of Sheppey but in the last year they seem to have rationalised their European manufacturing resources such that now it's made in Austria ( I think ). As I wanted a nice OE screen I did try Porsche Classic, they could get me one however ironically theirs has the Pilkington logo one it ( and no porsche logo) so ultimately the least OE option despite coming from Porsche!!
Anyway not sure if that helps as it sounds like you might of parted with your cash - and to be fair Roger Bray are very good but the whole courier bit with screens is a pain.
I still have the business card I got from pilkington's trade stand at the classic car show in Excel which says for their own website for classic screens go to www.windscreensforclassics.com
