Oil fillter cap gasket?

Post by neilbardsley »

I'm having trouble source one that is the correct size. I've order from Roger Bray and Porsche directly but both are too large. It makes it very difficult to put the cap on the oil filler canister.

I believe mine is a regular oil filler canister. It looks a lot like this (but no orange pipe)

I will measure it when I get home from Le Mans but if somebody is at their car could they tell me the size of the cap and gasket they have? Plus where you got it from.

Neil - buy yourself some gasket paper via ebay (a couple of different thicknesses are worth having) & make your own gasket.

Andy, I bought a sheet of gasket as you recommend. However as I was about to trace out the shape from the existing, too large, rubber gasket I realised I should just cut a bit off the edge of the existing rubber gasket. Which worked. I should of thought of that ages ago.
