Engine
Originally a 2 litre 6-cylinder car, however the engine was rebuilt at some point to 2.4S mfi specification (the details for this may be in the German history which runs to several folders).
The engine was fully rebuilt again at that specification including new cams and chain tensioners in 2005 by Crispin Manner’s team at Oak Tree Garage (and all major service work there since).
New clutch fitted June 2017 by Oak Tree Garage.
Stainless steel heat exchangers.
*****
Following restoration and engine rebuild the car returned to the road in September 2005 at odometer read 4566km (it has obviously been round the clock at least once !)
Since then the car has been in regular use and is well known on both the UK & European 914 scenes have toured reliably to Holland, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, France and all over the UK.
Odometer reading at 07/05/18 45060km
*****
The car has an extensive German history from 1970 - 1990 being regularly maintained in Berlin.
The car was first registered in the UK in 1980 by the German owner but still largely maintained in Berlin.
At some point the car had gained steel GT style wheel arch extensions.
Around 1990 the car was acquired by a UK citizen who had the long-term aim of restoration and taken off the road. It was never registered in their name.
The car returned to the road in 2003 and was in the very early stages of restoration planning when I found and acquired it in May 2004.
Since acquisition I’ve kept an extensive history of the works done both for restoration and on an ongoing basis.
*****
The car currently has a GT style double engine grill fitted (with custom rain cover for when parked) but comes with the original single grill in Seal Grey.
The interior is a well used grey leather, I have most of a standard early black interior to, which will go with the car.
Wheels are Fuchs. Front, Rear, Spare.
*****
This is not a concourse car, but a well used and useable classic. A good solid base for wherever you want to take her next.
£47,500 in the UK with private plate DV 9146
£45,000 / €51,000 with age related registration plate / for export.
