Mirror, mirror on the Porsche, who's the....
Guys
The electric 911 customer is not so happy with just one mirror and wants one either side of the car. However, I've got a problem. I can't see that the mirror we've chosen (see below) will have enough articulation when mounted on the passenger time to be useful from the drivers seat.
So what classic chrome mirrors do people use when they have one either side? assuming that you want the one on the passenger side to be useful.
Cheers

Talbot Junior mirrors have a fair degree of articulation and are period correct.
I bought one from Aardvark. http://www.talbotco.com/talbot_mirror.htm

You know it mounts further back than the driver's?
But basically, they're rubbish. The rectangular ones have much more adjustment.

Tell him to stop being a pussy and live wi the one mirror. A 2nd would be useless and he's better off looking over his shoulder anyway

Fit the small rectangular mirrors from a LHD 2.2/2.4. The passenger mirror is mounted several inches further back than the driver's.
Re: Mirror, mirror on the Porsche, who's the....
Thanks guys. I've tried the Talbot and round ones in the photo from my first post but none can articulate enough to get a useable rearward view now matter how many inches I mount it further back.
I'm going to order up some of the rectangular mirrors and try them
Nick - you mention LHD, why? were they not available for both side on a RHD? or are you just saying to get a LHD driver mirror for the passenger side of a RHD car?
Cheers

Re: Mirror, mirror on the Porsche, who's the....
The UK 911s always had round "Durrant" mirrors, but some LHD markets used the flag mirror, which has a larger field of view and articulates further. That was the oddity of local construction and use laws in the seventies. I worked for Ford in the mid seventies and there was a department solely responsible for knowing all these local laws. Then we got the EU and everything was fine after that.

Although a RHD mirror was never available in period both left and right are now available from Porsche.
