lowering a early 911

Need some advice on lowering a 1967 911. Having never done this before is there anywhere that does a step by step guide?
How much does a spline lower it at the back?
Is the front ajustable? How is this done?
One last one, what recomendations does everyone have on uprating the shocks, bushes, etc?

Any advice would be appreciated....
