Southport Speed Week

Managed to bunk of work for the morning to meet JohnM and head over to Ainsdale beach at Southport .
It's the 90th anniversary of Sir Henry Segrave's record run on the sands over a mile at 156 mph in his Sumbeam .
Great turnout organised by the Aintree Ciciut Club . Gina Campbell was there giving tv interviews .

Had a great morning on the sands with Russ.

Great to see the pre war cars running up and down the sands.

Great photos Russ.

The very place I first drove a car aged about 12. I could 'just' reach the pedals on my dads A30.

Glad you had a nice day out. Cars look superb.

I think everyone from our neck of the woods had their first drive on ainsdale beach .
Mine was my dads 2000gxl cortina.
