Okay - so the word according to Viv......

Firstly thanks for everyone for turning out......totally trumped the Stag girls / boys again!!

The rollcall:

Peter - RHD Green 911E '72
James and friend Nico - RHD Orange 911E '71
Charlotte and friend Keith - LHD Blue 911L (yummy interior) '70
John - LHD 911TE Targa Orange '72
Tim - LHD Ivory 911E '70 (lovely colour)
Tom - LHD Outlaw 356

Ashley - RHD Boxster S Cabrio '05
Conrad - LHD 911T Targa Yellow '71
Rob - LHD (obv) 914 Orange '74

Some of the ages of the cars maybe a little adrfit - apologies!!!

Managed to secure our own little parking area too and braved the outdoors until the cool breeze and the lack of light got the better of us!! Headed inside where Chris the manager had set aside our little area again and some of the group were tempted into some nibbles or in one or two cases, something a little more substantial.

Lots of teccie talk and plenty of anticipation for Sunday (and Saturday!) at Beaulieu....the following are all planning to be there:

Sat - Me, Peter
Sunday - Charlotte, Conrad, Mike, Tim, John, Tom, Rob

The good news is that we seem to have enough interest to keep the meetings goind on a regular basis - so folks, get your diaries out......every third Wedsnesday of the month at the Fairmile.....those of you from a little further afield, it would be good to see you too, it is worth the trip!! :)

Ok. It's too early in the morning for this.

Image

I scrubbed the no. plates anyway - found an announcement elsewhere threatening hellfire & fury!

Us early leavers (Me, Tim & James) carried out a very scientific performance test on the way back up the A3. Its official - from a 20mph rolling start (3 lanes below an underpass) a 2.4E (with 2 people in) is definitely quicker than a 2.2E (claims he missed the start) and a 2.4TE (roof off), even if the owner claims he needs a top end rebuild.

All in the name of science of course and well within legal limits'ish(?). Now that's what I call a convoy!

I'm not seeing the pictures. Is the album set to "unlisted public" access ?
All I get is image not available.

Aha. Lesson learned - don't use PhotoBox.co.uk as the URL's for the pictures change everytime you view them. I've switched to PhotoBucket.com after looking at Tom's photos and that seems much more reliable. Hopefully you can see them now - though I will make them a bit smaller next time!

Thank god (or Miggs) for the 'edit-Post' button.

click refresh lads - all the pic's appear. magic!

great to meet some of the locals and receive a friendly welcome - will definitely make it a regular event. cheers for garage advice charlotte.

nice shot of the fill-up before the blast back into london - what you didn't see was all the optimax going in to get every ounce of power for the inevitable slip-road drag test! ah, the old 2.2 still has some guts!

james - am still clearing the smoke from my eyes, trust you got the same treatment at the traffic lights!

until the next time.
