iPhone 6, should I bother?
Just took a call from Vodafone asking if I want to upgrade to an iPhone 6 (at a price) I currently have a 5 which is approaching two years old but works fine.
Should I bother, in what way is the 6 going to be better (or worse)
Cheers

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
u should take it on the grounds that ur current phone is not likely to last much longer
i had to take new phone 'cos my 5 was cracked and would not turn off after 2 years also despite promises when purchased incapable of 4 g
4 g is brilliant , when u can get it , everything about 6 is much improved except i still have doubts about my in car blue tooth connections..............seems to disconnect sometimes
i am on 02 a great price and buying the phone on interest free as part of my 'contract'
IMO decent step up in 99% of all areas

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
I like mine - went from a 5. Like the new size (Plus is too big IMO)
My 5 had such little battery power and seemed to crash more when I updated the IOS
I would - It's not a revolution though.

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
I'm still on the 4 although due an upgrade. I still run it on the old iOS
Wife has a 5 she hates, moreso with the new iOS but mostly as it eats battery life (not as bad as her blackberry but bad)
Debating a 6, give her the 6 and use her 5.
In a couple of years I might be off the old 30pin cables!

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
So why to an iPhone again?
I had a 4s and a 5: the 4S had several 'problems' and wasn't working properly, so I got a 5 after just 1.5 years. That 5 lasted only a bit more than a year and stopped working during the DDK Scotland trip. Nothing was cracked, nothing was broken, it just -suddenly- stopped working! I sent it to be repaired (guarantee?) and after it was examined I was informed that the phone couldn't be repaired. I could buy a refurbished one for the reduced price of € 350 however... Uuuuhhhh... No thanx!
Needless to say I don't have an iPhone anymore...
I can nou truly say that there are better, faster and more reliable phones on the market, that cost less!

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
I have just upgraded to a 6 from a 4S. It's on OS 8.0 which I found to be fine and didn't upgrade to 8.01 or 8.02. The new OS is 8.1. I managed to drop it after a couple of days, and although the screen is in a thousand pieces it still works fine, even the fingerprint ID feature. Apple are replacing the whole phone for £79 as soon as stock is available as there are no spare parts available. I was a little disappointed that the 6 wasn't more different to the 4S, although the new OS is great. Make sure you get a good case for it as the 6 is a slippery as a bar of soap.

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
I went from 5 to 6.
I've had lots of grief with mine so my perception is somewhat biased.
Whilst Apple were helpful and replaced a handset with no quibble I still had problems and it's taken many hours to resolve but I'm there and - sort of - falling in love again.
iOS8 is good overall.
But Apple took my camera roll, threw all the pictures up in the air, discarded a load of photographs, messed up the albums and then placed a few pics back on my new phone. Thanks.
The camera sensor is a little better. Just a little.
The fingerprint recognition is a little better than a 4 digit access code. Just a little
I don't find the battery last any longer. Or maybe just a little.
So, overall it's no quantum leap, just a little better.
And Nick is correct, it's splippier than Swepco. Be sure and hold it tight.

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
IMHO the 6 hasn't moved the game on that much and I'm sure other phones are as good or better .
I do like the way it all seems to work together though , notes , photos etc all swop between my phone , iPad and Mac without to much fuss .
I reckon the camera's great . Love the slow motion feature and even my snaps seem to have improved ...

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
Went from a 4 to 5S only a few weeks before the 6 launched and I'm very happy with the performance / price / camera and especially because it's thicker and more robust than a beer mat 6.

Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
Cheers Guys, I would definitely need a case for it as my current one gets bounced on the floor frequently. Reckon I'll go for it. My current 5 is still running its original OS from two years back so if nothing else that will feel like an upgrade.
Re: iPhone 6, should I bother?
I have gone from a 4s to the 6 and find it a step forward, although it is not as distinctive. 4G as said above is a massive improvement. I haven't had any problems with my iPhones over the years, but then I don't drop them as often as my kids seem to (3rd screen recently fitted on daughter's phone). Mrs J has just upgraded to the 5s as she thinks the 6 is too big, but I find the 6 fits comfortably in jeans pockets as well as jackets, so happy days. A decent case sounds a must Jon, plenty to choose from.

I've got a 5 and I'm still on IOS 6!!
Works great, battery life great, does everything I need it to do very very well.
Reluctant to change it or upgrade the software. If it aint broken......
