356A Coupe Teardrop rear light question......

Hi Guys,
I'm currently building a 356A Coupe replica and I can't find any information on the correct mounting points for 57 on teardrop rear lights. I have searched various forums and can only find info for the earlier Bee Hive rears, can anyone help at all??

I know It's a replica and it will never be a real Porsche but I'd like the bits I put on it to be in the 'right' place to start with.

I recently went through the same process on my speedster.

In the end I studied lots of photographs and scaled the gaps, I did notice a lot of variance but I'm guessing that's the hand built variations.

I will make a note of my measurements and post them later when I get back to the garage time if my speedster info is of any help?

In this picture you can see 2 356's put 'over eachother': one with beehives and one with teardrops.
The measurements are correct:



But be aware of the following:
- some replica bodies (f.e. Chesil, Apal) have a wider/squarer rear than the originals and when you put the lights in like in the picture above it somehow looks funny/incorrect; they appear to be too close together.
- Some replica bodies (f.e. Vintage) have a smaller space between the engine lid and the bumper, so the license plate light (shine up or shine down) is not on the exact same spot as it is on original 356's. So if you use that light as a reference point, the lights will also end up on a incorrect/funny looking place.

Thank you for the reply but the image shown only has reference to the centre point of the Bee hive lights, not the Tear drop lights. I have looked at the image several times since finding it and have used it to find the centre line of the lights...but not the actual position.
