I've been looking at that for a while now, Chris (sent the link to Mr. Moss last year). Mileage puts me off though. I've never driven one but had one of the scariest rides of my life as a passenger in one.

Doesn't inspire much confidence in the Dealer if he can't even spell the name of the model correctly - it's an Integrale ...

I had an Integrale when they first came out in 1988, it was an 8 valve that had been worked on by Richard Thorne to 280bhp, with bigger brakes etc. etc. It was devastatingly fast in any conditions, able to get down Dorset lanes at 100 mph without breaking sweat. I have been told that it was frightening to passenger in. Sadly it was stolen and used in a ram raid. :(

Rust is your biggest enemy. There is a very active Lancia Club, which I'm sure has a good forum now, check there for issues.

Thanks Nick,

Rust is a concern if I was to use it as a Daily-ish, especially over here during the winter months.

I will have a look on the forums to get abit more background.......

Ram raid

I can vouch for that! Friend of mine had an Integrale many years ago and scared me half to death. Sadly neither my friend or the Integrale still exist (unconnected!). Nearest comparison is another friend who had a Skyline (?) that was equally awesome, if not more so. Circa 500bhp...

I ran one for a while. It was pretty much dug out of the barn of a wealthy chap who'd lost interest, but after a comprehensive service and clean it was good to go. I fondly remember the old skool laggy turbo and then a rush of power, compliant suspension, and an interior that contained a whole chorus of chirps, squeaks and rattles. I one used it on a LOC gymkhana and had a ball - but the combination of a 90 degree day, feeble aircon and a dustbowl of a course was deadly - for month afterwards I was cleaning out dust.

Inevitably there were irritating issues, I remember a fuel tank breather problem causing 'experts' no end of problems until I commented on the rush of air when I took the cap off. There's a specialist I used out towards Newbury that was very helpful.

The then Mrs SS7 utterly failed to get it, so defending an unreliable, 'boxy' car became difficult, and I replaced it with an E30 M3. Here's a pic of mine:

I've had two of these, the narrow Delta Turbo, a Martini one with full alcantara Recaro interior.... loved it . The turbo lag was huge fun and we modified the boost control to get more blow a truly fast car on a B road. Then I had a white Integrale on Italian plates . There were issues with rear suspension bush wear which led to a slightly alarming rear end lurch into corners it was fine once it settled in though. Again I loved it just like the Delta Turbo but on steroids. Sadly, practising to be a finnish rally driver   I swerved to avoid a deer ( honest   ) on the Puddletown mile and put it in a ditch at about 90 mph. I survived but the car was a huge mess :( :( .

I'd have another in a blink especially an EVO.

Always loved the integrale, but finding a good reliable rust free one will be hard.
If it was my money and for use as a winter hack, you can get an Escort RS Cossie for about 5k less, or blow the budget on this, I've had a good few imprezas, but the 22B is the holy grail and this one can only go up in value

Hi Chris - hope you're well - funnily enough I've been making some enquiries about Integrales over the last week - I've got details coming tomorrow from two private sellers someone put me on to - both EVO 2's one in Pelato ( white) and the other a Japanese import in Giallo (yellow) as per the car that Harry Metcalfe of Evo magazine owns.

I have an extremely strong feeling there'll be one in my garage within the next month !
