356 tear drop lights, uk bulb conversion help

Post by Frankster »

Guys
Just brought a couple of rear teardrop lights from the USA but the bulbs that they have supplied are not double filament for side lights and brake lights.

Do any of you have a good idea or could give me some tips on how to convert them to double fillament for the uk? Help....

You need to grind out the inner bulb holder and replace with something like this that will fit directly over the hole doing that will create.

I replaced both bulb holders in mine; can't recall why I had to do that as it was way back in 2004.

Quick plug - I am in the process of creating replacement LED rear lights for 12V cars (both USA and European light configurations) that will be available for sale later this year. I'll post a separate thread when I have more details to share.

Hi Simon. It's Franco, we met at brooklands last year. I am finally getting on with my build. Hope you're well, and thanks for the tip.
