914 injectors needed - where?

Post by Roddavies »

Evening all!! I am in need of a couple of injectors for a 1973 1.7l djet, one is leaking from the body a little. I only need to replace one, but should all four be done at the same time??

I know they are the same as the 411 1.7 injectors, but does anyone know where I can get some to be posted out tomorrow?? 1 is a necessity, four would be luxurious!!

Roger Bray Restoration list them in their catalogue. Not cheap.

You only need to replace the faulty one.

I have bought second-hand before, but be warned, they don't always work!

I would bite the bullet and buy from Roger. Not cheap, but potentially much less hassle as you know what your getting.

Thanks Kevin, I did spot that Roger had them.. Hope you're well!

Hi Racecraft! How's life?? (this car used to be his ;) )
A question for you - do you have any idea why the car is running green (2.0) injectors, rather than the original yellow (1.7) it seems to be running fine, so I don't understand what they are doing in there, unless the fuel pressure has been lowered to compensate for their higher flow rate?? I remember you having a djet man look at it, do you remember if he changed the injectors??

Hi Rod,

From what i understood The engine is as it was when it was when imported, it's previous owner to me (Simon cawthorn) did little to the engine apart from running maintenance. Might be an idea to double check the invoices to verify that. The djet guru I used just set it up correctly (Dennis Dunlop). No parts swapped or replaced.

If you get bored of it I'll be looking for a 914 shortly ;)

Glad to see it's in good hands :)

Regards

Stephen
