Hello,
I'm new to this board, but have been a member of others for some years.
A group of Porsche friends from Sydney (Porsche Club NSW) are attending CLM and Goodwood FOS.
I arrive a few days earlier than them, so have some time to kill.
Any suggestions (Porsche-wise) as to what I should do, or informal gatherings I might attend?

i'm afraid i'm not from the London area so can't really help. but the Londoners do meet at the Ace Cafe once a month. and i think theres a couple of events listed in the events section of the forum that might be of interest.
i am sure one of the guys based in the London area will be able to give more information.

Hi Justin,
I am ( or was ) a Londoner till I moved to the south coast. If you have only a few days free its unlikely you will find it easy to go to a Porsche event or meeting. Helen is right the Ace does have some nice evenings but you really need the car to get there. I used to go there on my motorcycle in the 60's!
I reckon if you like Porsche cars you might have an interest in aircraft and possibly those from the WW2 time span. London has a fantastic "Royal air force" museum at Hendon in North London. Its free to get in, its large , it has a fantastic range of planes from all over, you can spend the whole day there and not be bored unless planes do not interest you! Many, many Australians flew in WW2 from over here, they did a great job and to see planes like the Lancaster up close makes you realise just how brave they were.
As a guide you can reach the museum by travelling on the Underground train ( northern line ) to Colindale ( the stop before Hendon) then if you turn left out of the station and walk 10 minutes you will reach the museum.
If its raining turn right ouit of the station wall down the hill 200 yards to the bus stop and catch the 303 that passes the entrance.,

I am also going to the F.O.S. at Goodwood on the Saturday taking some Swiss friends. Its very busy there I should know, I only live 10 minutes drive from there.
By the way, the museum is about 30minutes on the tube ( underground)from central London.
