&*£@!) MoT (@*£@!)

Post by MartinP »

Spent last week concentrating on getting my £100 205 GTi in for MoT... and it passed! Then realised that the 912 MoT ran out a couple of days later, which, seeing as I'm supposed to be driving it to Stuttgart on Sunday rang the alarm bells!

My friendly MoT garage in Twickenham took it in yesterday and it sailed through. Well, it would have done if it wasn't for those two effin' holes in the front end which were too near to the suspension mounts to ignore.

Fingers crossed though, Max at Revival Cars was busy working on it last night - his welder tackling the front end while he replaced a noisy driveshaft at the other. Off to pick it up shortly and then straight to the MoT station and hopefully collect a ticket.

If not, then I could well be visiting the Porsche museum and driving around the 'ring in a Peugeot 205 GTi instead!

I am now in possession of a nice new MoT, thanks to Max and a super-quick turnaround. :)

The replacement driveshaft has quietened the noises coming from the rear, but not completely and so I think that providing the car makes it back from Germany in one piece, I will drop the gearbox oil upon my return and see if there are any clues there. :?

Stuttgart here I come...

There will be something - even if it's just about my journey there and (hopefully) back!
