HI there,

Hot66 invited me over here, so I thought that I'd say hello. I'm a relative newbie on all types of forum, but share an obsession with Porsche in general. Especially the 911 and most definitely the 2.7RS.

I am engaged in a hunt for the perfect RS and only the best will do. You can also see me on PH were I have the same logon name.

I'm not involved with cars in business at all, just a hobby. I am a writer. I have written screenplays and TV, but have just made the move into writing mainstream adult novels, have written childrens novels previously. Am currently engaged in writing a Sci-fi satire.

Anyway, back to 911's. I love them, all of them, except perhaps for Guards red Speedsters, but I still appreciate them.
I"ll start and RS thread again soom, and you can all tell me it's a repost!

Hi & welcome Steve :)

Good to see you found us all. Anything you want to know about pre74 Porsches this is the place.

As you've been told elsewhere, the more cars you see the better. A good starting point would be to have a good look over any 1972/73 911 to get a feel for what should be right or wrong as well as looking at RS's

Enjoy the journey

Steve

Hi and welcome to the forum. There are plenty of people on here who will be glad to help you, me included. If you are serious about searching for an RS I am sure we can help you get a good example and avoid the cars with stories!

I know of one of the best black cars available (no, it's not mine) but it is top price so I hope you know what you have let yourself in for.

Meantime, enjoy the forum

Regards
Mike

Hello everybody, and thanks for the welcome, even though I prattishly double-posted!

I got your Robert Stevenson comment Helen; I can only hope that my efforts compare! This one will be going out under my real name rather than a nom de plume, so you'll be able to tell me. I'll let you know when.

I will make an effort to get to some meets this year. Is it OK to turn up in a modern Porsche before you get your classic?

HI James, and thanks again for the invite. Geneve also pointed me here.

Mike, I am very serious, and have now cooled my jets having learned what a minefield this area can be. Here is one that I can't stop looking at right now.

Hi Gary71,

thanks for the welcome, had a look on your site, looks good, and you've got some great photo's on there. Your car looks great, must be fun hooning around in a convoy of old Porshe's, bet you get some great looks?

I should update my PH profile; we've moved back into Lancashire, not far from J27 M6. Still not far from cheshire though.

Cheers,

Steve.

Well this is where I need guidance, because this looks so good I am twitching..... :headbang:

I don't have the experience of the market that you lot have, but I'm listening.

BTW: Nothing against white, I just want something bang in your mush -but not the pink one  - like the Orange or the Blue.

I really loved the Yellow one at hairpin, and was just about to send a chap to check, and it rolled out of the showroom even as I rang them.

I was going to nip down tomorrow (NIP!) to look at the blue one, but hear that has sold too.

Now, I'm really going to reveal a swipe at the sacrosanct here: I think that I'd rather have a Touring.......because......I really like having a Sunroof....... :hiding: No. really I do.

Steve

The black car is a touring with a sunroof.

Welcome

I have a mate in Oz who knows Classic Throttle shop, they have a good rep but as is evidenced they do ask top top dollar for everything.

Was at Hairpin on Wednesday, that blue car was a stunner and very original.
RSs are out there, just keep in touch with the usual suspects, Hairpin, Maxted Page and good luck.
