Instrument wiring?
Does anyone have any photos of the back of their instruments showing where the different wires go? I am trying to install 5 guages into a “66 912 and having spent hours looking for a wiring diagram that matches the colours I have, I have got nowhere. Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: Instrument wiring?
Thank you so much, I am a member of the BBS forum so I tried there first but…. I am in South Africa and I think that BBS has blocked access to us from here. I queried this with the secretary at the 912 Registry only to get a mail back to say that BBS had closed due to lack of interest! So now I dont know what to believe

I appreciate it’s a year out, but the ‘layered PDF diagram’ option that goes early is blocked unfortunately

What wire colours are you struggling with?
Do you know that the wiring loom is exactly the same as a 911? All of the unused wires are tucked out of the way and hidden.
Are you trying to install 911 gauges in a 912 or later, (67 5 and the early optional 5 gauge dash), 912 gauges in a 912?
Has your loom been messed with before?
Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?
Here is a link to an early 911 diagram https://early911nzdownloads.yolasite.co ... iagram.pdf
if you are installing 911 gauges you will not get the oil tank level gauge working and the oil pressure gauge will need the correct 10 bar sensor to work.
If you install a 911 tach it will read wrong.
I do this kind of thing in industrial control systems for a living. happy to help
Regards
Sean

Re: Instrument wiring?
Thanks everyone! Sean, your comments were extremely useful. I have managed to hook up most of the
wires. I have a couple that are spare and wondered where they went. I take it these are the ones “ tucked out of the way and hidden”. I am going to wrap their ends in insulation tape unless you have any other suggestions?
