Additional pictures attached. And some comments from Ross: the outer is butted right against the inner at the door seal area but there is that big overlap I don't like.....there is also a pretty consistent 1/4" of the sill showing beyond the door. I pinned the doors before removal and they still need jiggled about to get the pins in but they are close......so, I may remove the inner flange, re-fold it a quarter inch in and kill two birds with one stone. Reliving my poor fitting VW panel days here!

FWIW:
Mine were worse than that, had to 're-roll' the flange to get the out flush with the (Dansk) skins on the doors. Easier said than done on the garage floor with angle iron formers...

If not careful the door seal has little location, and the fit of the alum sill cover can be difficult.

The panels I bought for the MGB GT resto I did before the 911 were FAR FAR better, and similar construction but heavier, far cheaper!

I’d dry fit quarters and front wing before doing anything dramatic. Door may need to come out at the bottom anyway. My whole outer shell was built with self tappers before anything was fixed just in case.

If it is just the Dansk panel that’s a poor show!

Difficult to see from the pic but make sure that sill is pulled in with several clamps like this and screwed in place

Not saying this is factory by any means but this is where my car measures:


At rear of outer sill to vertical of the seal flange is 85m


Front of sill to vertical of seal flange is 89mm

Door is flush in plane to the sill

Another question from Ross, here is the WhatsApp message he send along with some pics:

Front suspension pan is trimmed and trial fitted.....holes in fixture line up, happy days....but then I noticed it looks like an odd angle on the offside....nearside looks ok. Nothing bolted down solidly yet but clearly something off. Put the old one back in place to check my fixture wasn't skewed when welded......it fits fine.....again, just resting in place. Now, I have the spec for distances etc but not sure it has an angular measurement......?

I can sort it by various means but just wondered if this has been discussed previously.....hope pics make sense.

Another question

the nearside tank support panel was meant to be for an early car but it has this bump.....Kit was damaged here but not that much! I think it should be straight like the other side. Can anyone confirm?
