Hey all

Do Fuchs from 1978 with part number 911361020 differ from early (pre 73) deep 6 wheels?

Yes.

This diagram shows the different profile of a 'deep six' Fuchs compared to the later 'flat six' Fuchs wheel.




In addition, any Fuchs wheel from 1978 will have a larger central hole to accept the 'ring type' centre cap as opposed to the earlier '3-prong' centre cap.

I'm looking for some Fuchs for my Karmann Ghia and have seen a couple of 1978 wheels which are well priced.
From what you've said, I think the later ones will fundamentally look the same as earlier wheels (to the untrained eye).
