iPad question..

Post by 911hillclimber »

My iPad is without sounds, play a video, all good but no sound, YouTube etc, all no sound.
Cannot spot what section gives control of sound in Settings.
Volume control on top lh corner all to max level, the controls that swipe down from top rh corner all show sound symbol is on and at 1/2 level.
Bell symbol is blue.

Any hints or tips please to enable sounds?
Thanks

Just YouTube or everything with no sound Graham ? If everything is without sound, have you tried headphones ? Beware though that the volume settings for headphones and speaker are independent, so if you edit with headphones, the speaker volume will remain as it was.

I sometimes find YouTube looses sound, so I just close YouTube & restart. Sometimes my iPad remains connected to my wireless headphones, even when they’re closed in their charging case and nowhere near the iPad.

Volume settings are also found in Setting, Sound. Check not set to silent mode Here

Try turning Bluetooth off to break any connection that could be getting the sound.

Thanks for the idea, switched it off, still no sounds.
There is one update waiting on the iPad, so that is now happening.
Just maybe that will help, but doubt it.

I've had the same issue on a Mac. Turn off/on was the cure!

You will find with anything Apple, if it needs an update, and you leave it too long, it causes issues with their devices until you download it. It is almost forced upon you to do it, to rectify problems you suffer in-between time.

Bingo!

The iPad was put into Update and about 30 mins later the pad was enabled.

Entered the code word, and each keyboard tap was a 'click'.
Went on a youtube video on ddk which is perfect on my PC, and so it is on the iPad.

Now have the full sounds, the volume buttons work too.

Thanks to you all for the help!
