maverick
noun
1. an unorthodox or independent-minded person.
2. an unbranded calf or yearling.
Origin mid 19th century: from the name of Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), a Texas rancher who did not brand his cattle.

Headlining day 2 in Paris was '65 Le Mans winning (& the last Ferrari to win Le Mans of the classic era) NART LM 5893, reportedly in original condition and for sale for the first time since 1970. Estimated in excess of €25m she sold for €31m, €34.9m. For now, cars that win in real life are appreciated more than those that win in the movie

I clearly don't understand markets as it makes no sense to me why a 250 gto is worth about the same. There are more 250s and this car won Le Mans

Well the LM had a decent driver line up but was quasi rather than full factory, wasn't the prettiest Ferrari and was a tortoise winner, the fancied GT40s & 330s having fallen by the wayside - not sure if these factors would've equated to another €1m bid though. The GTO's 'the one' which seems to have an exponential impact on price at these altitudes; front engine, road & race, from Ferrari's golden sportcar era. And just like us normals, the rich have a tendency to herd like sheep

Hammering at $35m ($38.5m), the John Coombs 3729GT was something of a bargain, at least in 250 GTO terms. Seems your Tifosi doesn't want to break ranks with the sea of Rosso Cina GTOs at Ferrari Owners' Day. Even came with some cool pics...
