I can't put it off any longer, the time has finally come to put my RS up for sale. Asking price is £120k.
This is a fully sorted, immaculate condition car.
It is well known by the DDK massive, with lots of pics and threads here on the forum to spot it in.
There are 2.7RS reps and there are 2.7RS reps. This one falls into the “only the very sharpest observers can tell without checking the VIN” category.
I’ve owned the car since 2012. Originally a US 72T, I bought it after it had completed a comprehensive strip down, weld, paint and rebuild to RS spec at Canford Classics.
Loads of correct / desirable mechanical details:
- 2.7MFI spec engine on 7R mag cases,
- Real RS pistons and barrels. DC40 S Cams.
- MFI pump calibrated to RS spec.
- The 915 box was rebuilt by Mike Bainbridge.
- Quaiffe LSD.
- RS strut brace.
- SSIs, Dansk back box
- Brakes upgraded to SC front calipers to make it stop even better.
And cosmetically it looks just right:
- Proper profile RS rear arches.
- Correctly detailed 7s and 8s on Avons.
- RS front bumper, ducktail, all the RS decals.
- Leather / green pepita D’Eser Sport S seats.
- RS gauges, 380mm leather steering wheel.
- And it’s even painted Viper Green (the best colour!?)
The car is mint inside and out, and I have spared no expense in keeping it that way:
- Maxted-Page, Jaz Porsche, Chris Turner service history.
- Bi-annual detailing with fancy wax etc.
- Anything that needed doing I did it. Any parts that started to fail, I addressed immediately: includes anti ethanol hoses, a new race clutch and a new oil cooler.
- I have a fat file with scans of invoices and receipts exceeding £27k. I know there’s more that I failed to file away.
- And it's ready to go: Just at then end of July I spent £2200 at Jaz getting a full service, geometry set up and attending to any potential niggles.

It has also been used as intended, notching up about 16k miles with me (would have been many more, but I was lucky enough to have a 914/6 GT too):
- It’s been multiple times to Spa, Le Mans, Nurburgring etc etc, it’s taken my kids on camping holidays and Sunday country drives.
- I even drove it over the Alps to Sicily to participate in the Giro Di Sicila. viewtopic.php?t=56948&hilit=ducktailing
- It has been the subject of multiple magazine features. Ooh, the glamour!

More important than all of that: it is a truly fantastic drive.
I had a full day of race driver training in it on the full Silverstone GP circuit a few years ago.
My instructor was Richard Attwood. He drove the car quite a bit, and declared that this rep handles and goes just like a real one.

I am truly devastated to have to let the car go, but a change in family situation forces my hand.
The 2.7 RS is an ultimate fantasy car for many Porsche heads, and this car is sure to delight the next owner.
I know autumn is not the best time to sell. Truth is I’m in no immediate hurry, I don’t need the funds until next May.
So for now I’m making it available here on DDK, in the hope that the car can stay “in the family”.
And if that doesn’t happen, in the Spring I will get professional pics done, craft a more polished write up, and make a more visible effort.
I’ve done my homework and I believe my asking price to be a fair expectation considering the condition and spec of the car, compared to others on the market and recently sold.
And as is always said…just try building one this good for less!
If you are interested DM me or call in the evenings / weekend on 07946 640410.
I can share hundreds of photos of the restoration and build to RS spec, recent photos all over and inside the car to demonstrate how mint it is, scans of all of the service receipts, MOTs, parts etc.
And of course I'm ready to recount the history of how I’ve maintained and enjoyed the car.
