Where can I buy a knob boss?

The rear window quarter latch on my 356 has lost the bolt and knob. I've found a spare knob and have a suitable bolt but need an M6 boss (like in the picture). Which will enable me to connect it all back together. I tried cutting a thread in the knob but no luck. My Idea is to drill it out a bit and fit the boss

Helicoil with adhesive? I'd be worried about pressing in something and breaking the knob.

We used to place those brass thread inserts in the mould dies before closing and injection moulding the knob plastic.
The insert was knurled and this became encapsulated in the plastic.

Later we changed to inserting the brass bit by ultrasonic insertion which worked just as well and was cheaper/faster.

The ideas for the inserts are good, drill the old out (carefully) and epoxy the insert in. Keep the diameters close and the hole finish rough.

All done and no porn sites needed. I ordered the 6mm knobs off Amazon. Next day delivery! Thank you Jeff. Then cut out an insert from the wrong shaped knobs. Drilled the hole larger and pressed in. Then cut the bolt and all back together.

Now I need to clean the car as 2 dirty dogs decided to watch.

I will be happy to see the end of this week as WFH but at my desk below 4am and my body does it
