912 Engine ID

Hi, I'm considering buying a 912 engine that has the engine number 012337 and struggling to find much info on the year - anyone here know per chance??

That engine has been for sale on ebay (& elsewhere I think) for a loooong time.

I think it was built up from a 356 industrial engine (not that there's anything wrong with that) - hence the 'odd' engine number.

Thanks Lightweight, relatively cheap for a 912 / 356 engine, makes sense that it's from an industrial unit.
