Great News

We have produced two versions of replacement mirror glass for DURANT circular mirrors for pre-74 911's in two sizes 115mm and 118mm. These overcome the inherent failure of the mirror to be able to be adjusted enough to see out of.

They are made to our precise convex specification and provide a much wider viewing angle. The first Level is RSC Convex 1-115 and is suitable for replacing the driver's mirror glass. With the 115mm version one can attach it snuggly to an existing stained or cracked glass simply with a good adhesive or thin double sided tape. The RSC Convex 1-118mm version is a direct replacement for the glass.

The fitting of a passenger Durant mirror was never an option when new as one could never see enough without leaning over the passenger seat. Even so, some drivers fitted one so they at least could use it to see to reverse into a garage etc. After several attempts we have finalised on a convex glass that one can see two lanes of a carriage way with a Durant passenger mirror mounted in its intended position. For simplicity we have made it again in a RSC 2-115 115mm version so it can be attached to the existing glass or RSC Convex 2-118mm to replace it.

Replacing is not that difficult but I would recommend removing the mirror from the car. Smash the original glass and warm the hard plastic ring and ease it out. The glass is a precise fit and the plastic retainer can be refitted by warming it before hand.

I fitted these to a RHD 2.2S and I cannot believe how nice it is to be able to glance at both mirrors and see what is behind. The change is intangible like fitting our Rennsport Classic Seats. Until you do it you don't know how much more pleasurable it is to drive the car.

Fitting Service

We offer a glass fitting service for £105.00 + Vat if you don't feel up to doing it yourself. All you need to do is send us your mirror.

If you want a new upgraded mirror fitted to either drivers or passenger side the cost of providing a Porsche supplied upgraded mirror is £450+ Vat or £299.00 plus Vat for a reproduction.

Genuine Original

The new mirrors supplied by Porsche do not have the Made in Germany the originals had only three stars and we have a couple of original mirrors for £425.00 each upgraded for either passenger of drivers side. First come first served.
