All these 'heritage' restoration departments should employ people whose sole remit is to scour the globe - including outside the internet - in order to find (& then buy/put into storage) those NOS parts.
Unfortunately I think many (most) of the buyers for these sorts of cars have no idea which parts are correct & which are not ...

Graham at GB is a decent chap and who has trimmed both Jaguar sets of seats for me and supplied lovely trim kits…remarked that he did the trimming of their continuation E Types and also trimmed that electric version….none of which was acknowledged by Jaguar
Both he and Stuart who runs Coventry Auto’s (a proper XK enthusiast who worked for Jaguar back in the 90’s on the shop floor) said literally, word for word it’s a place run by people who have no idea about how to build the cars properly….
The truly dumb thing that real quality wouldn’t cost any more, and the sad thing is that original cars are being ruined
Perhaps I….and indeed “we” on this forum can be safe in the knowledge that our cars are better….and more cherished….
