The bottom of the car floors needs to be black undersealed. Can someone tell me if the bottom valence is black for a 69t

I can’t remember.

Just searched for a relevant photo of my 1970T, built by Karmann. My car was very original and mine was black under there albeit with a bit of flaking silver overspray on from a respray. There's a photo here half way down the page. viewtopic.php?t=68983&start=285

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Stop posing and crack-on!

You will have a great time now building it all up in the cold months ahead...

Resto thread for 119100008 69t

Post by leedurrant73 »

Hello guys.

Need your thought, the guy who did my car replaced a new passenger door catch panel.
Unfortunately didn’t re connect or weld the tube which holds the puller cable for rear engine lid.

Going to ask him to do it but a little concerned it will blister the paint on the door slam area.

I guess there is no other option?

Thanks

Knew I had seen a post about similar before, if you are not a stickler for originality and destroying your paint finish, this may be your best solution?

Thanks buddy I guess my best bet is to get the guy to repair it. Considering he missed this.
I’m going to continue with putting the car together and he can do this later down the line.

Thanks for the e thread appreciate it :)

Resto thread for 119100008 69t

Post by leedurrant73 »

Hello,

Haven’t posted in a while but started working on the car again. Got some minor electrical gremlins to work out which I think are earth grounding issues. Going to remove some paint to see if it helps.

Decided to get on with sound deadening. Purchased from lakewell. Bitumen pads. Quite each to work with once you heat up and bend it.
Pads are cut to fit so minor changes require. Nice and sticky just heat up with heat gun or hair dryer.

Progress so far.

Does anyone know the best way to clean carpet sets. I think it’s good enough to reuse but it’s been sitting in my garage for a while.
