Front strut / shock nut
Hi, does anyone know the size of the C spanner required for the front shock / strut nut- the one that secures the shock into the strut.
Thanks Danny
Thanks Danny

Re: Front strut / shock nut
Koni shocks - fitted new shocks a few months back now. All good but the nut securing the shock into the strut came loose, re fitted and tightened but has come loose again - shock is knocking on the strut. May have to lock tight it this time and use the correct tool (believe this is a c spanner

Re: Front strut / shock nut
Pretty sure it’s 24mm but I’m not with the car right now. I can check this evening.
As for tightening you are supposed to hold the centre shaft still with a tiny little Allen key… but 99% of the time you hand tighten the nut then bang it home with an air gun…
Not had one come loose and loctite sounds like a bad idea as if the damper shaft starts spinning when you need to undo it then it’s a world of pain.

Re: Front strut / shock nut
Thanks for the reply - it’s not the 24 mm but it’s the large flat disk type nut that secures the shock into the strut / shock housing.

Front strut / shock nut
I’ve now got bilsteins struts and shocks which are inverted and use a roll pin to locate the shock into the strut at the bottom
But With my old Boge that had a similar set up to you , ultimately I used a monkey wrench .. which admittedly is a bit ham fisted way of tightening that disco
