I started my apprenticeship at James Booth Aluminium in 1968 who made a lot of the aluminium alloys for Concord.
The feeling of pride within the factory ( about 2000 employees) was very high, I remember it well.

Oddly, the plant is still operating in Kitts Green Birmingham, remarkable!

What a machine it was.

I was there!
First job as Assistant Photographer at RAE Farnborough where another Concord had been static tested using hydraulic rams for a year.
We sent a team down to RAE Boscombe Down to cover inaugural flight- I did some pics but not this one.............

That's brilliant, Clive. I've just inherited a Concorde hip flask - it's a 10th anniversary one and a lovely thing. It'd never been used, or taken out of its box. I'm intending on using it at every chance I get now.
