Similar 2.2 in white further down in the listing in the UK at a dealer, similar price too.

Except the green car is a 911E (vs T), original paint, lovely colour, highly original etc.!

Well spotted.

The crankcase looks a bit white and I first thought it's corrosion but now I think it's the silver paint from the respray on the heat exchangers.

This car was assembled in the Karmann factory. I seem to remember that some people on the ESR forum have said that Karmann 911 bodies were lighter.

I also have an unrestored 1971 2.2E which I need to do an intro thread on. But I notice this car, like mine, has no 'handle' to pull the driver's door closed after you have got in. There is one on the passenger side. Good to know that mine is correct (assuming this one is) but I wonder why they designed it like that?

Because in theory it can interfere with your arms when driving . .. as it is I quite like the routine of opening my window slightly and pulling the door shut by the window frame

Blimey. I’d never noticed this feature of my 71 T before. Sure enough there’s no handle on the driver’s door. I realise now that I grip the top edge of the front bin to close it though. Any other revelations?

Which is why a lot of the door bins / door pockets on cars are damaged / deformed

I reckon its so the driver can reach over and pull the door shut after his passenger has bolted!
