Fuchs Wheel refurb

Post by domtoni »

Who is doing refurbs now? I checked with MCE and they seem to do a great job.

Bootsy, the biaggio link doesn't work, it takes me to an ebay page but nothing about him.

Just go to the eBay page and then click on ‘Business details’. It brings up his name, address and phone number. Also you can visit his items for sale, which are often his services rather than specific items.

Closer to you would be Badger Anodising in Birmingham. They will strip, polish and anodize Fuchs. Very reasonably priced. You would have to mask and paint them yourself which is a bit fiddly but not difficult.

Thanks, but I'm not all that good with mechanical or painting stuff, better to pay more and have the job done well.

I suggest pay Badger to do the above then a paint shop to spray, I did just that and saved a lot of money. The result is not concours perfect though, because I think my rims needed skimming to get some minor pitting out, but I was very reluctant to get that done as I'm not convinced anyone can keep to the profile, and by the way Badger wouldn't be able to offer that.

I think you may be surprised at the cost of Fuchs wheel restoration.

I had mine done art Art Wheels in Strasbourg, but as I was living in Switzerland at the time, there was no shipping cost (I drove there, they swapped the wheels over to a loan set and then did the refurb). I'm very happy with the results.
