The 914 in the background is this one. The pics above, and this one of the 914 GT are at scrutineering at Termine Imerese:

Great pics, do you happen to remember what colour the car was?

I don’t always trust the data on racingsporstcars.com, KS Image

Pictures are better!
Impossible to tell the actual shade from old reproductions, but it’s a blue of some sort:

Here are the team colours. You can see this same badge on the leading edge of the rear wings in my B&W photos too:

Good test question, Steve. 1970? Not so sure.
But it did run in March 71 at a GT race at Monza, and I read somewhere else (possibly TATS, I'll have to check my copy) that was treated as a bedding in race for the car, ahead of the Targa.

Not often was a 911S bested by a Hillman Hunter and an Austin 1800 but the 24 day, 10,000 mile 1968 London-Sydney Marathon was no ordinary event. The 3 Stuttgart prepared entries wore von Hanstein
designed exoskeletons after the Polish team of Sobiesław Zasada & Marek Wachowski wrote-off a rented VW Beetle and a large kangeroo on pre-event recce. Rumoured to have a concealed pistol in the
navigators headrest, the Zasada entry 58 was the best placed Porsche in 4th

I try to search out the best examples of the marque but there's clearly no pleasing some people...

I mean, what's not to like about a cross between a 914, a 911, a GT-1 and a few tons of glassfibre?
