Hi,
re fitting front headlights and new headlight to body seal. Any hints / tips as can get the right alignment or compression on the rubber seal to clip the headlight over the top. fitted when taken off and no repairs to headlight sections etc. in addition screw fixing has sheared off - anyone used captive nuts or self tapper to fit
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Danny

Re: Fitting headlights
What type of seal are you using? New thick neoprene or the thin VW type. I generally get the screw started then Hook the top on the wing and then tighten the screw.
Rivnuts can be used

Re: Fitting headlights
I had a similar problem replacing original sugar scoops with Euro versions. Did the securing screw on the new headlight have a little black rubber grommet on it ? I took mine off initially and as i tightened the screw the headlight would get pushed off the clip at the top. I finally put the rubber grommet back on and he presto it work. You don't need to screw the screw in so far and I think it must add some back pressure to the bottom of the ring to push the top forward and help clip the ring.

Re: Fitting headlights
Thanks for the reply - i did not have any rubber grommets on the screw. think ive found the issue, looks like a new tab has been welded in at some stage and fixing is to high up therefore not pulling the light down. will weld a new fixing in a little further out and down.

Re: Fitting headlights
I think they are all the same, I’ve had the same issue on mine. There is a sweet spot where the headlight grips at the top but screw too far and it pops off again.
