Offset for 3.2 Carrera with 7x15 wheel
Hello
I need new rims for my winter tyres - turns out the offsets are wrong on 7" cookies for 3.2 rear axles, and cookies don't like hub-centric spacers. Does anyone know what the best ET offset would be for a 7x15 on the rear so that the tyre (205) fills the arch properly ? The arch isn't rolled, so I don't want to risk any rubbing.
I'll probably replace the front cookies too, so if anyone knows the correct 7" offset for the front, that would be much appreciated.
Ta

.
There were only 2 offsets avaialble on original Porsche 911 7x15in wheels:
Early '7R' Fuchs = 49mm
All other 7x15in (Fuchs, Cookie Cutters) = 23.3mm

No Ian - they have the extra 1" width on the inside compared to a 6in wheel.
For an RS/SC/3.2 Carrera, etc you'd want an 8 x 15in wheel (Fuchs has an ET of 10.8mm)

Ah - 8" might be a bit of a stretch for a 205 tyre, and I don't think you can get wider snow tyres in 15". Do you know if there are any after-market 7" wheels (e.g. minilite copies) that fit a 3.2 rear wheelarch ?

If it's only for winter use, why don't you simply use regular 7s with spacers if you want to fill out the arches?

Re: Offset for 3.2 Carrera with 7x15 wheel
Hi Keith - I tried that. Unfortunately the cookie cutters don't have the necessary recesses to allow a hub-centric spacer to be used - I went right up to a 28mm spacer and the nuts protruded about 5mm outside the space and so the wheel wouldn't sit properly. A 32mm was the next size up but I think that would have rubbed on the wheel arch.

I ran 7 x 15 cookies on my SC. I used adapters, rather than spacers on the back (26mm I think). All good.
