I think it seems beyond redemption or the majority is, without all new metal being required and what would you weld that to? I presume? engine and running gear are also not included.

Just hang the VIN plate in free space and work from there! Anything can be saved.

It’s always a debate just how far you go with a car before it isn’t the same car anymore.

Roger Bray would do a wonderful job on that one and depending on how much it sells for, it’ll almost certainly repay the investment. I’m assuming that it’ll fetch £300K plus restored.

I sold my ‘51 for £7000 about 2001 I think. Took 6 months to sell-nobody wanted them. A bloke from Norway came over after Paul Rui (?) looked at it and rejected it. He restored it ( it had flat steel floors and the nose had been repaired earlier in life and wasn’t quite right). I had Dave Clark quote me to turn it into a drag car-probably just as well I didn’t go down that road! Chassis number 10722 which at the time made it one of the earliest known.

Yes how times have changed thought my brother did well selling his 51 split screed chassis 10964 for around £1,000 in the 70's. In full running condition with MOT as well. He bought it ten years previously for just over £100- Strange, I sold Paul Rui a pre A handbrake assembly from our 1952 car. He was a great restorer I seem to think one of his cars a split screen is in the Porsche Museum?
