No key for door

Can anyone help please? My key to a 66 912 does not operate the driver’s door. Any ideas on how I can get this fixed quickly and cheaply? Is there a company that supplies just the door barrel? Can a key be made?

Has it worked in the past, or is it a new car to yourself and just found out the key does not work in that lock.

I take it works in the passenger door?

Hello

The car came with just one key. That operates the ignition. But does not operate either the driver's or passenger's door lock. I suspect the ignition was changed at some point, with new ignition key. The door keys then got lost.

Just take the barrel of the offending door handle apart and change the position of the tumblers to suit the new key. I did it to my car and to Delwyn's Pre-A. Not a difficult job.

The re-tumbling process is quite straight forward but is it possible to get the barrel out without the key?

Put a key in the lock before pulling it out of the handle, and then pull the key out in a controlled manner to catch everything as the springs ping all of the tumbler pins out! Been there and done that.

It’s an easy job.
