The con rods are abussed--well polished to within an inch of thier lives.
The motor was obviously rebuilt very recently as everything is bright and sniney.
Any Thoughts??

why would anyone need to grind these off?

why would anyone need to grind these off?
I have just stripped a 912 motor, which rattled like a skeleton orgy in a biscuit tin, to discover (along with totally sha%%ed bearings) these ground down.
The con rods are abussed--well polished to within an inch of thier lives.
The motor was obviously rebuilt very recently as everything is bright and sniney.
Any Thoughts??

My guess would be clearance for a stroker crank? What is the stroke of the crank you have? 74mm is stock.
