I know, I'm an old laggard....
The main reason most people like instagram is that to post anything you need a photo and Instagram comments are restricted to that photo. Twitter was good initially and only as a snapshot of things. Now I just use it for following comedians or my local Britsh Embassy regarding Brexit updates as they don't have details of British residents outside of Britain.
Facebook brings out the worst in people and this idea that an old Mechanic friend of mine making racist comments about the world cup gels with my 17 year old God daughter only ruins both relationships.
My experience has been that separation of these parts of your life works out better.
Do my family and friends need to be bored by photos of wheel fitment on early Fuch or questions of a component being period correct? This is why I come here I know what to expect and you do to.

This. I was getting fed up with friendface for ages but it draws you in. In September last year I just stopped using it. After about a week I realised that not only did I not miss it, but that my mental health was MUCH better. Every now and again I get tagged in something, look at it, decide I'll have a quick scroll and in under a minute I'm fed up and I close it again. The only reason I haven't deleted it completely is that friendface messenger is so useful.
I like Hipstergram because it's just pretty pictures of what my friends have been up to, without racist Britun Furst memes and links to petitions about shite I don't care about.

I’ve deleted my Facebook account. Did Insta for a while before but got bored of ‘competitive posting’

Use WhatsApp a lot - have various threads with friends and family that keeps us all in touch.

And DDK of course

FOMO? nah, JOMO....

We agreed on a digital detox when we were on the road in Spain with no wifi and no roaming data - worked well....

Full marks for getting that agreed, trouble is I’d have to as well and that’s just as difficult!
