Re: Classic LeMans '18 - Booking details for Porsche Curves
More information on our Campsite within the Travel Destination Site 2. Having spoken to Andrew Melley (Travel Destinations) this morning its been agreed that we take the eastern side of the site in an extended site from the one PCI had in 2016. We're due to have approx 150m x the width - from the road to the row of trees. Andrew is going to take a better look at the LM24 in June and revert to me then - I will keep you posted.
In 2016 we had was is now Zone A & B and we had acres of space for 18 cars - could have easily put another 10 or more cars and tents - possibly even more. While we expect that we'll have 6 zones the reality is that we may have more or less depending on Andrew's survey in June. Andrew has assured me we can and will have as much space as we need.
The photo below is only for you guys to start thinking where you want to pitch up, I assume we're going to get 12 pitches in each zone with a few more in Zone A and few less in Zone F. This works out well as have 78 vehicles going, but as I mentioned this plan will change slightly.....
I've shown access roads leaving space between each zone to allow you to drive to your pitch.
There will be no pitch numbers, we're much more relaxed than that and would rather members park up with their mates where possible. I'm more than likely going to park up at Zone F in my Airstream motorhome - this helps Identify the start of our area.
So to recap - this is a starting point - not the finished plan - more info will come in June.
Sorry - mistake made we have 78 people going in 46 Vehicles - been that kind of a day - poss 8 cars to a zone?

I'll be liasing with Robin to sort groups that I already know want to be together in the same 'zone', but as Robin says, if there are groups of you, please let either me or Robin know & we can ensure you're all allocated the same zone

Some more info for you all.
Firstly we have also exclusive access (only those with Travel Destinations) to the Porsche Curves viewing bank which is easily accessed by leaving our campsite, going left under the bridge and straight into the Travel Destinations Site one - from gate to gate 2 mins.
Access to the paddock and other parts of the circuit are out of the campsite, turn right to the roundabout and jump on a free "tourist train" this will take you towards the paddock and other areas, our you can walk and enjoy the sight of many classic cars en route. If you go to the main Classic Le Mans website more details area available and to what runs where.
Below some additional info on the facilities on site.

Re: Classic LeMans '18 - Booking details for Porsche Curves
We are also bringing a classic american motorhome. The GMC is roughly the same size as Robin's Airstream @ 26ft with an awning coming out the right side doubling the width.
Shall we go in F too? We will also have 3 cars and a couple of small tents.

That might be quite good - I think possibly opposite even in E maybe even leaving an open space between our vans then we use that as a communal area to meet / eat / drink? We do need to see who can do what in terms of cooking and helping out if we're going to do a big BBQ on the Friday / Saturday night? Don't forget PCI are donating 200 Euro toward wine, that's a lot of boxes of Merlot.....camperco wrote:We are also bringing a classic american motorhome. That's a great idea. The main reason for bringing the GMC is to hang out around it and enjoy cold drinks from the massive fridge!redrobin911 wrote:That might be quite good - I think possibly opposite even in E maybe even leaving an open space between our vans then we use that as a communal area to meet / eat / drink?
