how low

just a few things to sort out now and I should be up and running. Need to get it a bit lower though,at the moment it is sitting like a 4x4 still on the American ride height. I have booked it in to JZ at kings Langley for a final check over and its first MOT for 3 years and while he has it I am going to have the suspension dropped and the alignment set up, I want it low but still drivable, any recomendations as to how low to go. Pictures will follow as soon as I have had a training session from my son as to how to post them.

My ex-912 was lowered; it doesnt look super low, but the handling was pretty sharp as a result. The front was wound down about three-quarters of the way, which left only about 1in of free travel between the shock body and the internal bump stop. Presumably if you wound it right down there would be no travel at all.. I wonder how these very low racers do it - are there such things as shorter struts available??

Anyway the ride was actually OK, the only problem was speed bumps around london... you had to plan the route carefully to avoid grounding the floorpan out on the "top hat" type ones...

By the way, the handling was dramatically improved by getting the corner weights (and tracking of course) set correctly.

Thanks for that Gav, speed humps are a problem in Luton too so thanks for the advice, your car is just what I am aiming for at the moment my arches are around 3" above the tyre. I will be having a full geometry set up as well. Talked to dave at JZ about a bump steer kit and he reckons it is not needed, did you fit one?

I bought one but didnt get around to fitting it... was OK without but probably wouldnt hurt to have one
