Hi Mark,

Just noticed your car has the same front seats as mine. Albeit mine are original black leather (VGC) and not an anaphylactic shock retrim.
I've got some 67 front seats to replace mine too, but have rather elaborate, strange and over engineered runners on my old seats, so need the two rails that fit to the floor also.
I'm curious to know if you have the same seat runners on your grey seats as I do on mine?
They are well engineered but over engineered and some one or some company has gone to town on making these things.

No way, I thought mine were unique!

I'll have a good old look at the weekend and see what I have / am missing. Sounds like we may both be after the same set of chickens teeth..

They look like a Recaro, but the headrest has an unusual adjuster knob that I've never seen before????

I was very surprised to see the adjuster on your headrests too.

Bought my car from California last year, maybe there's some link there, if indeed our seats are the same?

Curiously my car was Tangerine, now silver with fuch, soon to be Tango'd on steelies again. Funny yours is silver too with fuch

Yep they are the same seats. I imagine that they were marketed 'back in the day' as an upgrade, much like Torino's are now. I had a look under mine and the runners and mounts are pretty complex. I need to find runners though before I can put my new (old) seats back in. They are incredibly comfortable though so I'm not rushing to replace them though yours in black do look better than mine in their light grey.

My car had some funky breather set up which needed some attention.



Looks better now and will all function properly.



Next job is to paint the oil can.

I thought I should post an end of summer update as the car has had a few more changes. The main one is the guys at Bernard Newbury have done the interior. It's not factory but was what I wanted for the car as it is used regularly to drive in and out of London. I had become partial to the funky Recaro type seats and am still hunting runners for my original pair so I got them covered in a leather basket weave with door cards to match. Someone was kind enough to sell me an OG steering wheel, it just needs a new chrome ring. I kept the rear speaker pod as it means I can run rear speakers without cutting into anything, it's been recovered in leather. The front speakers are in the footwell carpet a la 356 speakers. The carpet is german square weave which I don't think is technically correct, but I like it. I bought some Coco Mats to finish off the look.









Just need now to get the seat belts sorted and fit the Blaupunkt Frankfurt.

Does anyone know where I can buy the din to iPhone lead for this radio - I had one on the old 912 but can't remember where I bought it from?

You should paint the bit between the door and door cards in satin black, that was done in the factory so that you would not see the body color inside the car, otherwise, looks sharp!

Thanks- it does look modern, maybe a bit too much so but I gave them free rein as I do have og front and rear seats for when the time comes. Comfort for the 5,000 miles a year I do in it is high on the list.
I’ll have a look at the satin paint, I must say its not something I’ve noticed in the past but now you’ve pointed it out its going to bug the hell out of me!
