Accordingly this is a good honest very straight no accident damaged car with no rust from New Mexico.
Let's start with the bad news
It has an engine, not original, described to me by the vendor as a boat anchor. No idea what it is or whether it could run
There is no injection system or carburettors.
The car is titled as a 2 litre and I may be able to help source a complete genuine 2 litre 914 injection
motor.
There is some surface rust in the rear trunk area. A wire brush job, no more, no perforations. The battery area is solid and rust free as is the chassis
The front bonnet is badly sunburnt and has surface rust and pitting, it will need painting.
It's missing front spoiler
The dash has some cracks, really needs replacing, again I can probably help.
It needs a new windscreen,
There are a few catches and snags in the upholstery, nothing bad and quite possible to live with
I am sure there are other niggles but that is the bulk of it.
The good,
Fuchs wheels
Mostly seems to be original paint. Thin in a couple of areas and it looks like the front wings have been painted to a good standard but I detect some over spray on the rubbers
It's very straight and solid and not a basket case
Cool colour
Would make a great basis for a 914/6 conversion
The interior is pretty good despite a few snags
Windows and locks work smoothly.
A pretty straightforward project really to worry at over the winter months.
The price
I have taken some soundings , on a good day to the right buyer I am told it's potentially a £10K car, maybe
I will pitch it at £ 7950.
It is not advertised elsewhere yet but the plan would be to EBay later in the year but I really would rather a straightforward sale to someone in the community,
Photos follow
Sorry it's in a barn ( a barn find!)and they are iPhone pictures, I do have more.
The car is in Kent near Tunbridge Wells, I am flexible re timings to view out of the country for 2 weeks from 13 October.
