Weber rebuild kits? Weber reconditioning?

The Weber 40 IDA's on the '67 really could do with some love & attention. Anyone know a good source of rebuild kits? Are there any companys that rebuild these webers?

O Dear!

Gowers and Lee did the set on my car, a few years ago they charged over 900 quid plus bits...

At present I do not know anywhere that does them at an affordable price..

The gaskets and needle valves are, or were, available..I have some here..

If the spindles are worn tho' its cheaper to get a decent set of unworn bodies ..I have some here I can exchange you..

One day I'll get around to setting up to do them, and fit a ball bearing to the throttle linkage end...

Alternatively just get a set of PMO's and save yourself money in the end..unless of course you need to get an FIA paper..

I do know a company in the USA that will rebuild Webers and make a reasonable job. I had a set done last year and it cost around $1000 US. I collected them last time I was in the States and the workmanship and quality is excellent.

Basically the carbs look as new.

PMO's are copies of Webers with some improvements and are very good and can be supplied with great maifolds fitting kits etc.

I have just ordered a set of 40's and a set of 46's complete with manifolds etc. etc.

I visit the States 5-6 times every year so itis conveneient for me to use US based suppliers

As David says - you should be able to get all the parts you need from Gower & Lee. They used to be in a little mews garage in Paddington but moved a few years ago - can't remember where they are now...
