So here's some of the bits I've got stashed so far.

Just back from the balance shop.

78mm 4340 Forged Chromoly Super Race t4 crank shaft, 200mm lightened flywheel, Kennedy stage 1 pressure plate, straight cut gear and csp pulley.







Balance H-beam rods with 22mm pins with Arp bolts.





Webcam 86b cam and straight cut gear.

Are you bushing the case for T1 lifters? Well worth it imho

Hi Bruce, it's on the list for Jim to do. Not much choice with type 4 lifters so definitely worth doing. Wasn't sure whether to use aluminum bushes or brass. Everybody has reasons for both.

A pair of LE-200 heads, with matched ported manifolds.







Some new KB stroker pistons.

Not sure yet. Everything seems to be taking forever, hopefully once l get the case back it should be ready for the summer???

Not much going on with this apart from spending more £££.

The heads l have, Le-200 Ham Industries were build for the same CC's but using standard valve train. I'm using light weight valve train so need to reduce the spring pressure to suit. Easier said than done. Seat bases have been cut for dual springs. Had no luck sourcing springs to fit these heads that will tick all the boxes, so decided to shelve these heads and have a new pair of heads made to suit the engine and valve train.

Bright side is, at least I'm still on the road.

Case now back from machine shop. Oil galleries drilled and tapped for full flow, new bronze inserts honed to suit light weight lifters and line bore checked. Followed by a chemical clean.





The standard old lifter.



And the new light weight lifter.



Going to use a Thorsten Pieper oil pump to keep things lubed.

Update

It's been awhile, but here at last. Pockets feeling a lot lighter and new pair of blank heads extensively reworked by Stateside with matched manifolds to suit my engine.



A few more bits to get and then the build can go ahead once my pockets have recovered

After much thought and as much has I want to build this, I've decided to farm out the build. To much ££££'s been put into this for me to make a schoolboy error.

I'm running a very similar spec 2270 in my bus, the only difference is I am using Porsche 2.0l heads. Overkill for a bus, massive fun though and plenty of both torque and also whizz even with the mild 86b cam. Hills, what hills and is fine with a gearbox thats doing 70 at 3000 rpm. Son would love to get it into his 914! or maybe even into the back of the 912 for a while. Again, 150 horses is about the right number, next stop is efi for me to clean it up a little.
You will just love this motor when its done, keep going

BTW, I had to clearance the top of the case for that crank / rod combination

Cheers for the heads up. Did you have to modify the gearbox or leave it stock?? On the fence at the mo. Might run it and see if any problems occure.
