New member 911T targa 1971 USA

Post by koert »

Hi,

I am reading this forum fore some time now and I really like it! Time to introduce myself.
I am living in the Netherlands, am 46 years old, married and father of 2 kids.
I have owned a 911 3.2 carrera coupe '84 & a 911 3.2 cabriolet '86 in the past and sold these cars some years ago because I needed the money. Looking at the prices today it was one of the most stupid things I did but I don't like looking back.
Four years ago I was at E-bay looking at 911's in the USA and decided to put a low offer on a project 911T targa 1971 (matching).
I was very surprised that the owner accepted my offer and on that moment I was the owner of a early F type 911.
After 3 months the car arrived in Rotterdam and at first sight it looked quite well. In 2013 I started the restoration of the car and am still working on it. I had to replace and repair a lot of metal (floor, inner fenders front & rear, suspension pan, front etc) and the chassis is almost solid now. Currently I am working on the suspension and will start with the body panels this summer holliday.

Some pictures from my project.

Welcome - we do like a resto - possibly start a thread detailing the work in the Restoration section?
