Hi all
My name is Mark and I've recently bought a project car i'm probably going to needs lots of help with.
The car is a grand prix white '84 3.2 Carrera coupe.
With Porsche prices reaching new heights daily I decided to use some property advice someone once gave me and apply it to cars, so instead of buying the worst house on the best street i bought the worst(relative) car from the best stable.
Long story short I bought the car without even hearing the engine start it did however crank and definitely had compression, I was also assured it was simply something electrical. The car ticked lots of boxes and the price was right so i bought it regardless.
I had the car towed to my mechanic for a thorough "going over" and to get it running. It turns out the Motronic was at fault and after some dry joint touch ups it was running and running well! The 915 is smooth as silk, the motor pulls very well and suspension and brakes feel great.
The cars biggest let downs now are its paintwork and interior. There is no doubt that the car needs a full respray and new interior but that is all much easier said than done.
Just some of the questions i have are.....
Do I
A) Do a glass out, rust repair and lengthily respray or
B) Some glass out rust retard blow over?
and on the interior do I
A) Source a un-cracked blue dashboard or
B) Leather cover the existing one?
Anyway as far as intros go I'm sure this one isn't too bad.
I'll try and attached some pics at a later stage so you guys get a better idea of what I'm dealing with.
I have owned 2 other 3.2 Carreras over the years and this one definitely goes the best so I already love it the most!
